The Coin Relics is an educational blog about US coins. Everything published here is general information to help you learn about your coins — it is not financial advice, and it is not a formal appraisal.
All values shown on this site are estimates. A coin’s actual value depends on its grade, authenticity, and current market demand, and prices change over time. The ranges in our guides come from real auction results and published price guides at the time of writing, and they are dated so you can see how current they are.
Values are estimates based on grade, authenticity and current market demand. A cleaned, damaged or counterfeit coin is worth far less — sometimes only its face or metal value. Many of the coins in our guides are commonly faked, so buy and sell with care.
If you own a coin that may be valuable, get it certified by PCGS or NGC and consult a reputable dealer before making any buying or selling decision. Never clean a coin to “improve” it — cleaning almost always reduces its value.
