About

The Coin Relics exists for one simple reason: too many people spend, lose, or throw away coins that are worth real money, simply because nobody showed them what to look for. This site is the friendly guide we wish everyone had the day they found an old coin.

Here you will find plain-English value guides for US coins — pennies, silver coins, quarters, dimes, and half dollars — with the exact dates, mint marks, weights, and tests that separate a one-cent coin from a thousand-dollar one.

How Our Values Work

Every value on this site comes from real auction results and established price-guide ranges, and every guide is dated so you know when the numbers were last checked. Coin prices move with the market and with condition, so we always show ranges by grade — never a single magic number, and never hype.

Values are estimates based on grade, authenticity, and current market demand. A cleaned, damaged, or counterfeit coin is worth far less. If you think you have something valuable, get it certified by PCGS or NGC before you sell.
